Ismail El-Amouri Job Summary/Basic Functions The Department of Environmental & Public Health, Administration and Medical Sciences at Eastern Kentucky University invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor for Academic Year 2026-2027. Applicants should hold at the time of appointment either an earned doctorate in Public Health or a doctorate in a related discipline with a master's degree in public health. Degrees must be from an accredited institution. The position begins August 2026. The position serves core and major courses in the department, including courses in the B.S. in Public Health (with Health Promotion and Pre-Professional concentrations) and the Master of Public Health program (with a Health Promotion concentration). Applicants should demonstrate academic training and public health practical experience that complement the department's expertise and resources. Demonstrated experience with relationship-rich education as well as student academic- and professional-readiness is preferred.
Minimum Qualifications Education:
Applicants should hold at the time of appointment either an earned doctorate in Public Health or a doctorate in a related discipline with a master's degree in Public Health. Degrees must be from an accredited institution.Experience:
- Knowledge of current practices in professional communication and social media

Licensure & Certifications:
Preferred Qualifications:
- A minimum of an equivalent of one (1) year of full-time teaching experience in a public health program.
- A minimum of three (3) years of public health practice experience.
- Experience in obtaining external funding through grants and/or contracts.
- Strong background in epidemiology, biostatistics, and public health informatics to meet evolving instructional and workforce needs in public health.
- Proficiency in statistical software and data visualization tools.
- CHES or CPH certification.
