Description Assistant Professor of Anatomy & Physiology The School of Health Sciences at Lasell University in Newton, Massachusetts seeks a highly motivated and collaborative individual to join our program as an Assistant Professor of Anatomy & Physiology. This full-time, non-tenure-track, 9-month appointment will begin in the 2026-2027 academic year. Responsibilities Teaching responsibilities primarily include anatomy and physiology courses as well as additional teaching assignments where expertise aligns with program needs. Course development will include didactic and laboratory instruction and assessment in biology and may include other areas of disciplinary expertise. Successful candidates should demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching excellence, serving as a champion for the biology program through positive interaction with prospective students and the public. The candidate must have the ability to teach non-anatomy & physiology science courses that align with the candidate's field of expertise. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellence and enthusiasm in teaching and student advocacy; commitment to productivity and professional development; and active participation in school and college service that includes but is not limited to faculty standing committee work and academic advising. Student mentoring, academic advising at the undergraduate level, and new course development to support the dynamic and growing area is required. Candidates should have strong communication and interpersonal skills and a commitment to collegiality and teamwork. Our growing undergraduate and graduate programs are looking to enhance and diversify offerings. The successful candidate will have the ability to work both within and beyond program specific needs to shape the on-going development of the curricula offered within the School of Health Sciences. Successful candidates will demonstrate an avid interest in utilizing a project-focused approach to teaching, supporting the University's educational philosophy, Connected Learning. Faculty in all disciplines at Lasell may have the opportunity to teach in our Honors Program as well as the Core Curriculum. Optional Program Leadership Opportunity The School of Health Sciences anticipates appointing one of the successful candidates to serve as Program Chair for Sciences, based on qualifications, experience, and interest. Program Chair responsibilities include academic leadership, curriculum coordination, faculty collaboration, assessment and accreditation support, and program development. Appointment as Program Chair includes additional responsibilities and compensation in accordance with University policy. Candidates with interest or experience in academic leadership are encouraged to indicate this in their application materials. Qualifications Preferred Qualifications Ph.D. in Biology, Physiology, Anatomy, Exercise Physiology, or related field. ABD will be considered Experience teaching Anatomy & Physiology (lecture + lab). Ability to attract and retain new students. Ability to teach general science courses required. Ability to serve as a capstone research advisor for undergraduate students.
