Description The Williams College Department of Political Science invites applications for a one-year appointment in the 2026 - 2027 academic year, as Visiting Assistant Professor in Political Science. We seek individuals who can teach courses in comparative politics, especially those with an Africa, South Asia, or other regional focus. The ability to teach courses in international relations is a plus. The teaching load is four courses, split evenly between the fall and spring semesters. We welcome applications from candidates of all backgrounds and strongly encourage individuals whose experiences and perspectives will enhance our commitment to academic excellence and innovation to apply. Candidates should have the Ph.D. completed by June 2026.

a cover letter detailing teaching experience and competencies as well as current scholarly interests; two syllabi of classes taught or planned to be taught; a curriculum vitae; three letters of recommendation; teaching evaluations accompanied by comparative or statistical context (if available); and a writing sample of only one article or chapter. We ask you to write in your cover letter about your ability to work effectively with a student population that is broadly diverse with regard to gender, race, ethnicity, nationality, sexual orientation, and religion.
