St. Mary's College of Maryland is accepting applications for the position of Visiting Assistant Professor of Philosophy . This is a 1.5 year (3-semester long) position, from January 2027 to May 2028. The salary range for this position is $63,700 to $71,000, depending on qualifications and experience. Non-sectarian since its founding, St. Mary's College of Maryland, a public Carnegie Baccalaureate, Arts and Sciences institution located in St. Mary's City, 70 miles southeast of Washington, D.C., has been designated as Maryland's public honors college. With selective admissions policies, academically talented students, and a rigorous curriculum, we offer a small college experience similar to that found at exceptional private colleges. Qualifications:

Ph. D. in Philosophy is required. Committment to excellence in undergraduate teaching within a Liberal Arts setting. An interest in attracting and retaining students from underrepresented groups is desirable. The successful candidate must produce the necessary documentation to legally work in the U.S. upon hire. Employment will be contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background check.
