  • 04/16/2026 Job Institution Carleton College Institution Type College / University Department Department of French and Francophone Studies Location Minnesota, United States Position Visiting Professor Visiting Assistant Professor or Instructor of French and Francophone Studies The Department of French and Francophone Studies at Carleton College invites applications for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor position in French (beginning September 1, 2026).
Areas of specialization are open. Candidates with research in gender and queer studies, pre-colonial and early colonial studies, visual studies, disability studies, and ecocriticism are particularly encouraged to apply. Teaching responsibilities include French language and literature courses from the beginning/intermediate to the advanced seminar level, including two courses in the candidate's area of expertise. The teaching load is 4 courses during the year, spread across three ten-week terms. The expected starting salary range for this position is between $48,668 - $52,460.
