Position Description:
Culver-Stockton College invites applications for theposition of Assistant Professor of Music. This is a full-time, 9-month, tenure-track position beginning in August 2026. The primaryresponsibility is providing leadership for the choral music program. Culver-Stockton College is accredited by the National Association ofSchools of Music.
Responsibilities:
Directing choral ensembles, teaching vocal methods, applied lessons invoice, and choral conducting. Secondary areas will depend on the skills of the candidate and may include music education(preferred), musicology or music theory, and musical theatre. Candidates should be committed to excellence in teaching andscholarship. A strong commitment to recruitment and academic advising is expected. Must have the ability to workeffectively with students and colleagues and have a strong commitment to undergraduate liberal arts education.
Qualifications:
Minimum of a Master's in Music required for a renewable lecturer position. D.M.A. orPh.D. in Music preferred and required for a tenure-track position. ABD candidates will be considered. Previousexperience with directing choral programs is desired.
