The Department of Psychology Job Summary:

The Department of Psychology at the University of Mississippi seeks applicants for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Clinical Psychology. We are seeking faculty with child-focused research and clinical interests to further grow our graduate program. We are particularly interested in individuals who would broaden existing departmental strengths by adding expertise in areas such as neurodevelopmental disorders, feeding/eating disorders, developmental psychopathology, and childhood emotional disorders. We also welcome child-focused applicants outside of these areas. Applicants should have a strong record of research productivity and a plan for developing and maintaining a substantive research program that would attract external funding. Applicants must be willing to teach both graduate and undergraduate courses, pursue licensure to provide clinical supervision for graduate students, and recruit and mentor graduate students. About Our Programs The Psychology Department consists of 30 full-time faculty members and over 60 graduate students. Graduate programs include the APA-accredited doctoral program in Clinical Psychology and a doctoral program in Experimental Psychology. The Clinical Psychology program adheres to a scientist-practitioner model of training, with a particular focus on evidence-based approaches. Our program is a leading producer of PhDs in the College of Liberal Arts and has been continually accredited by the American Psychological Association since 1973 (reaccredited in 2021 for the maximum of 10 years). The Experimental Psychology program focuses on behavioral analysis (with new undergraduate emphasis area), cognitive, developmental, and social psychology. Faculty both within and across graduate programs frequently collaborate on research. Our graduate psychology programs were joint recipients of the 2021 Donald R. Cole Excellence in Promoting Inclusiveness in Graduate Education.

Department space at the SOC includes faculty offices and labs, administrative space, graduate workspaces, seminar rooms, and the Psychological Services Center (PSC), which has 9 therapy/assessment rooms. The SOC is a short drive from the main campus with regular bus service between locations, providing easy access and parking for community research participants.
