Working Title:
Assistant/Associate Professor School Administration - 2853 Min T/E Requirements Qualifications. Doctorate in Educational Leadership or a closely related field from an accredited university. Minimum of three years of school- or district-level leadership experience. Eligibility for and maintenance of North Carolina School Administration licensure. Experience teaching online graduate-level courses. Ability to collaborate effectively with local schools, teachers, students, and community partners across southeastern North Carolina. Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to professional learning standards for principals and executive school leaders, with the ability to design, facilitate, and evaluate high-quality learning experiences that promote continuous leadership growth, organizational improvement, and equitable student outcomes. No If yes, please indicate the end date of the grant.(if applicable) n/a Primary Purpose of Position This is a tenure-track position with the primary purpose of teaching master-level school administration/educational leadership courses, as well as engaging in service and scholarship aligned with the profession and mission of the School of Education.Job Description Responsibilities :
The successful candidate will teach graduate courses in educational leadership. The course load is three graduate level courses each semester. The candidate will be expected to integrate evidence-based practices aligned with the current state and national standards to create teaching and learning opportunities that: Support the development of aspiring leaders in all building and district level operations. Build student capacity to work with schools and districts who serve diverse communities, by demonstrating a commitment to understanding the needs of the district. Foster the development of the professional dispositions of school leaders. Mentor graduate students and provide structured guidance to support successful completion of the principal licensure portfolio, including the development, curation, and critical analysis of leadership artifacts aligned to state and national standards. Additional responsibilities include leadership opportunities, service on School of Education and University committees, maintaining scholarly productivity, advising and mentoring students seeking licensure, supervising internships, working with the community and school partners, and providing service to the university and profession. Management Preference In addition, the preferred candidate has: Demonstrated track record of active research in areas associated with Educational Leadership and has a strong agenda for future research. Teaching and developing accelerated online graduate courses. Interest and experience in program development Evidence of grants or grant applications in the field of education or educational leadership. Strong data-driven decision-making skills, with a solid understanding of research methodologies and data analysis techniques to inform instructional leadership, program evaluation, and continuous school improvement. Familiarity wtih the use of online technologies for teaching and advising. Experience mentoring graduate candidates. Engagement in professional organizations and service at the state and national level.
