Job Description

The Department of Business Administration in the School of Business and Digital Media invites applications for a full-time tenure-track faculty appointment in Sports Management.

The ideal candidate will hold a doctorate degree in Sports Management or a related field and is passionate about teaching and research. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to teach a wide variety of sport management and related courses (including sports marketing, sports law, e-sports, etc.), design curriculum, assist with the establishment of internship opportunities for undergraduate students, provide strong academic advisement and supervise internships. In addition to a successful teaching record at undergraduate and/or graduate levels, we seek candidates with an original research agenda that complements and contributes to the departmental mission to offer a wide range of approaches to undergraduate and graduate business education.

This is a full-time, tenure track position.
Essential Functions:
Teach 12 credits per semester.

Collaborate in developing curriculum and establishing new course offerings.

Advise and mentor students pursuing the undergraduate degree in sports management.

Participate in departmental functions and university-wide services.

Pursue scholarly activities.

Provide service to the Department, School and the University.

Collaborate in program development.

Work with student activities.

Teach in the general education program when possible.

Perform some departmental administrative duties as deemed necessary by the Department Chair.

Integrate the core values of respect, compassion, integrity, justice and service in all aspects of interaction.
Qualifications:
Earned doctorate in Sports Management or a related field. ABD considered.

Potential for excellence in teaching at the college/university level. Evidence of research activity and scholarship.

Commitment to interdisciplinary & original research and/or professional practices.

Commitment and sensitivity to issues of diversity, both within the classroom and in design fields overall.

Ability to work collaboratively and cooperatively.

Ability to teach in both traditional and non-traditional formats and settings (studio, off-campus, evening, hybrid, and online).Ability and willingness to learn to effectively use instructional technology (internet, instructional software, and Blackboard).•Effective October 1, 2021, proof of vaccination or submission of weekly
