Job Description

Rutgers, New Jersey Medical School is seeking full-time Infectious Diseases physicians at the rank of Assistant Professor to join the Division of Infectious Diseases and/or the Public Health Research Institute (PHRI). This position includes patient care; teaching fellows, residents and medical students; research; and scholarship in the field of Infectious Disease medicine. Research support is available for qualified candidates. The selected candidate must have an MD or equivalent; New Jersey State Medical License; State of New Jersey Controlled Dangerous Substances (CDS) Physician Registration; Controlled Substance Registration Certificate from Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA); and be board eligible/certified in Infectious Disease. This position will be for clinically focused physicians who are focused on growing a translational research program, as well as exceptional patient care, who can work effectively and collaboratively with colleagues and patients, and who have significant interest in academic medicine, teaching fellows, residents and medical students. Duties and responsibilities will be performed at University Hospital (150 Bergen Street, Newark, NJ 07103) and Ambulatory Care Center (140 Bergen St, Newark, NJ 07103) and Doctors Office Center (90 Bergen Street Newark, NJ 07103). In addition, the candidate will support the training of Infectious Disease fellows and medical residents and will also support the educational needs of New Jersey Medical School in Infectious Disease. The candidate will actively support the research mission of the division. The candidate must possess superior clinical, teaching, and interpersonal skills.
