Posting Details Position Information Fiscal Year 2025-2026 Position Title Academic Scholar - Clinical AssistantAssociate Professor; Division of Nephrology Posting Category Faculty Department Medicine Posting Number U260035 Posting Link ubjobs.buffalo.postings62082 Employer University Affiliates Appointment Term Position Type Posting Detail Information Position Summary The Division of Nephrology within the Department of Medicine at the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences (JSMBS), SUNY at University at Buffalo (UB) invites applications for full-time Clinical Assistant Professor or Clinical Associate Professor appointments. Rank will be commensurate with experience. Faculty will be primarily based at ambulatory practice sites and major affiliated teaching hospitals in the Buffalo region. This position offers an excellent opportunity to join a growing academic nephrology program committed to outstanding patient care, medical cation, and scholarly activity within a collaborative academic environment. Position Responsibilities Faculty members will have a well-balanced clinical and academic role that may include the following:
  • Inpatient and outpatient nephrology practice, including consultative services and longitudinal patient care
  • Evaluation, management, and follow-up of patients with a full spectrum of renal diseases
  • Teaching and mentoring of internal medicine residents, nephrology fellows, and medical students in both clinical and cational settings
  • Supervision of nephrology fellows during inpatient consults and outpatient clinics
  • Participation in academic activities, including divisional conferences, quality improvement initiatives, and interdisciplinary collaboration
  • Engagement in clinical andor translational research is encouraged, with support for scholarly productivity aligned with institutional resources

  • MD, DO, or equivalent degree
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Nephrology
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine
  • Eligibility for unrestricted medical licensure in the State of New York
  • Current, unrestricted DEA registration
  • Demonstrated excellent clinical judgment, communication skills, and professionalism
  • Strong commitment to team-based care, cation, and academic medicine
