Department of Applied Career and Digital Technologies at SUNY Cobleskill Ag & Tech SUNY Cobleskill Ag & Tech invites applications for a 10-month, tenure-track faculty position in off-road equipment technology. This position supports our Agricultural Engineering Technology program, which offers Certificate, Associate of Applied Science, and Bachelor of Technology degrees and prepares students for careers as skilled mechanics and technicians across a wide range of industries. We seek a colleague who is passionate about hands-on learning, workforce development, and student success, and who brings professional experience from any sector related to mechanical systems and equipment technologies. Teaching experience is preferred but not required; applicants transitioning from industry are encouraged to apply. Position Overview The successful candidate will teach courses at the certificate, associate, and baccalaureate levels and contribute to a growing, industry-responsive program. Teaching assignments will align with the candidate's background and may be delivered in person, hybrid, or online, and scheduled on weekdays, evenings, or weekends. Relevant areas of instruction may include, but are not limited to: Equipment principles and systems Electrical and electronic fundamentals and diagnostics Diesel, hybrid, and electric power systems Fluid Power fundamentals and diagnostics Welding and fabrication technologies Surveying or precision systems Service software, diagnostics tools, and computer applications Equipment or service operations and management Experience may come from industries such as construction, agriculture, heavy diesel, fleet and transportation, power generation, or related fields. Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications Instructor (Tenure Track) Bachelor's degree in Agricultural Engineering Technology, Agricultural Education, Technology Education, Agricultural Systems Management, or a closely related technical or applied field Three (3) years of relevant industry experience in mechanical, equipment, or systems-based work Demonstrated interest in teaching, training, or mentoring (formal teaching experience preferred but not required) Strong communication and interpersonal skills Assistant Professor (Tenure Track) Master's degree in a related technical, engineering technology, education, or applied field. or PhD in a closely related discipline Experience in teaching, training, curriculum development, or professional education and/or extensive industry leadership experience Professional experience in equipment, mechanical, or systems-based technologies Strong communication and interpersonal skills Equivalencies:

The salary for this position is commensurate with rank and experience. The salary range is $50,063•$60,000. This is a tenure, term position. Start Fall 2026. This position offers full New York State benefits which are some of the most comprehensive in the country.
