Salary Range:

No Position Summary The Kinesiology Department at the State University of New York at Cortland invites applications for a full-time tenure-track assistant professor with a specialization in biomechanics. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, research, academic advisement, and service.Salary Range:

Experience Cortland dives deep into the region's offerings Major Responsibilities Teaching Provide instruction at both the undergraduate and graduate levels in biomechanics and other courses as assigned Advise/mentor undergraduate and graduate students Scholarship/Research Implement an active research agenda on biomechanics topics that leads to nationally/internationally refereed publications and presentations Pursue external funding for research Direct graduate/undergraduate research projects Service Provide service to the department, university, and professional organizations Functional and Supervisory Relationships This position reports to the academic department chair and works closely with department faculty. Required Qualifications Earned doctorate in Biomechanics or related field. Candidates who are ABD may be considered with expected completion of the doctorate within one year from appointment date. Preferred Qualifications Demonstrate experience and evidence of university-level teaching Experience in delivering undergraduate and/or graduate coursework on biomechanics Experience using hardware (e.g., force platforms, motion capture, electromyography) and software (e.g., MATLAB, Qualisys, Visual3D) relevant to biomechanics Credentialed by relevant professional organizations (e.g., NSCA, TPI, etc.) About the University A top public university of approximately 6,600 students located in the geographic center of New York State, SUNY Cortland provides accessible, affordable education to students from across the U.S. body.
