Job Description:
Manhattanville University invites applications for a full-time Clinical Assistant Professor of Biology in the School of Arts and Sciences. This position carries a teaching load of 30 credits per academic year and focuses on instruction in Anatomy and Physiology I and II for Health Sciences students. The successful candidate will join a collaborative and interdisciplinary faculty committed to excellence in teaching and student engagement.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
None Duties/Responsibilities:
Teach undergraduate courses in Anatomy and Physiology I and II, as well as other Biology courses as needed. Develop and update curriculum to reflect current scientific knowledge and pedagogical best practices. Advise and mentor students in academic and career planning. Participate in departmental, school, and university service, including committee work and program development. Collaborate with faculty across disciplines to support the growth of Natural Sciences and Health Sciences programs. Engage in professional development to stay current in the field.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Demonstrated commitment to working successfully with a diverse student population, including low socioeconomic and first-generation students. Ability to teach a range of Biology courses including Anatomy and Physiology. Ability to integrate technology and innovative teaching methods. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Brightspace, and/ or related software.
Qualifications:
Education:
Doctoral degree in Biology, Physiology, Health Sciences, Physical Therapy, or a closely related field.
Experience:
Demonstrated evidence of excellence in teaching at the college level. Experience teaching Anatomy and Physiology courses to undergraduates. Familiarity with laboratory instruction and hands-on learning. Experience with curriculum development and assessment.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer, ability to lift 15 pounds.
Hours Expectation:
Full-time, 35 hours per week
