Job Description

Kenyon College, a highly selective liberal arts college in central Ohio, invites applications for a one-year visiting assistant professor position in the Department of Classics, effective July 1, 2026. Teaching responsibilities consist of five courses per year. We seek a colleague with a strong interest in teaching Roman history as well as a course in translation of their own design. In addition, candidates should be qualified to teach Latin at various levels, and preferably also Greek. Applicants must be committed to excellence in teaching and to creating a classroom environment in which students from a variety of backgrounds can flourish. A Ph.D. in hand is preferred; applicants who are ABD will be considered.
