About this Position The Greenwood School of Music at Oklahoma State University seeks applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor of Percussion with a start date of August 2026.
Responsibilities:
The Greenwood School of Music seeks a qualified percussionist to teach undergraduate and graduate music majors and non-majors, with instruction spanning classical, jazz, and contemporary styles, coach and direct percussion ensembles and jazz combos, lead weekly studio class, and collaborate with faculty to support student success and ensemble excellence. The successful candidate is expected to engage in service to the unit and their profession, be productive as an artist/scholar, and to promote a welcoming learning environment. About the Michael and Anne Greenwood School of Music The Michael and Anne Greenwood School of Music has a current faculty of over 40 full-time faculty, combined with a full-time professional staff of 9. There are approximately 300 students enrolled in degree programs that include the BA, BM, BS, and MM, with programs in music education, performance, jazz, music and music industry. Oklahoma State University, accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music, is housed in the beautiful new facility of the McKnight Performing Arts Center and the Michael and Anne Greenwood School of Music, and an all-Steinway institution. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively mentor and collaborate with students and colleagues. Preferred Qualifications Ph.D./Ed.
