Description of Job Duties Description of Job Duties:
The Department of Biological and Biomedical Sciences at SWOSU seeks a qualified individual to serve as an Assistant Professor of Biology with an emphasis in Cell Biology. Primary teaching responsibilities include courses in Cell Biology, participation in one or more core Biology courses, and teaching within the candidate's area of expertise. Additional responsibilities may include supporting pre-professional courses (Molecular Biology, Cancer Biology, and Microbiology), as well as general education biology (Principles of Biology, Biological Concepts, and Current Issues in Biology). The candidate is expected to engage students in undergraduate research and work with colleagues to integrate research into the biology curriculum. Startup funds and research space are available. The candidate is expected to participate in department and university service. Our department values collegiality as we strive to provide an excellent and welcoming learning environment for students. Education and Experience Education and Experience A Ph.D. in the Biological Sciences is required, with graduate coursework and a demonstrated research emphasis in cell biology. Post-doctoral research and/or teaching experience are preferred. Technological competence and experience in Canvas is preferred.
