North Charleston, SC Job Details Tenure track 8 hours ago Qualifications Master's degree Full Job Description Assistant/Associate Professor of Art Charleston Southern University Summary The College of Humanities and Social Sciences at Charleston Southern University invites applications for an Instructor/Assistant Professor of Art position beginning August 1, 2026. Charleston Southern seeks candidates for faculty positions who are professing Christians and who are committed to excellence in teaching and service. They should support the goals of a strong liberal arts education and be willing to explore with students the integration of faith and learning. Work Performed The teaching load will include teaching 12 credit hours per semester in undergraduate, two-dimensional studio art courses and art appreciation. Faculty members are also called upon to participate in academic advising, serve on committees, engage in college and university service, and are encouraged to pursue their own creative work. Qualifications This is a tenure track position. The candidate is required to have earned a master's degree in studio art or closely related field with at least 18 graduate credit hours in art. The ideal candidate will provide evidence of successful teaching experience and be a working artist. Preference will be given to candidates with a specialization in illustration.
