Assistant Professor of Chemistry Reports to:

Exempt Core Responsibilities:
Teaching 12 credit hours and academic advising. Lane College invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Chemistry to teach General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, and/or
Quantitative Analysis Responsibilities:
Teaching 12 credit hours each semester. Advising. Participating in department activities. Strong supervisory and leadership skills to manage and control the classroom. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills with the proven ability to maintain professionalism and tact in high- stress situations. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. The Chemistry Department emphasizes using active-learning to create an inclusive environment for a diverse student body.
Skills:
Qualifications and Experience:
Doctorate in Chemistry is preferred. Candidates with a Master's degree and 18 credit hours in Chemistry will be considered. The ideal candidate will have familiarity with Blackboard, hybrid courses, and the ability to utilize innovative modalities for delivering course content. Some walking, climbing stairs, sitting and standing for long period of time. Ability to lift 10lbs. 1% of the time
