The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry (http://www.uta.edu/chemistry) in the College of Science, at the University of Texas at Arlington, invites applications for a rank of assistant or associate professor, a tenure-track position beginning Fall 2027. We are seeking outstanding candidates with expertise in synthetic organic, bioorganic, bioinorganic, medicinal chemistry or biochemistry. Research interests should complement or intersect synthetic chemistry or biochemical expertise with the translational neuroscience expertise and centers that are developing at UTA. These centers include the UTA Clinical Imaging Research Center (3-Tesla MRI), UTA Pediatric Health and Neurosciences Center, and UTA Bioengineering Program. We hope to attract candidates that can bridge these fields and help translate the findings from the laboratory to the clinic. Candidates with emerging research programs related to developing compounds, polymers, conjugates, or biomolecules that could be used as brain-imaging agents, therapeutics, probes, delivery systems, or other tools relevant to neuroscience are encouraged to apply. The candidate's application letter must address their ability to contribute to neurochemical research, broadly defined; whether independently, in collaboration with others, or with established centers at UTA.Candidates must have a PhD in Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, Biochemistry or a closely related area, and post-doctoral experience. Successful candidates are expected to establish an internationally recognized, independent research group, including supervision and mentoring of graduate students and demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching and service..Tenure-track faculty are expected to initiate and maintain a well-funded research program and teach graduate and undergraduate organic, medicinal chemistry or biochemistry..PhD in Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a closely related area.
