The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry is a vibrant department housed in a state of the art building completed in 2012, with all the major instrumentation needed to uphold its very high research activity. Our core facilities house state-of-art instrumentations such as

The department offers a Bachelor of Science degree in both chemistry and biochemistry that are certified by the American Chemical Society, and also a Bachelor of Science degree in forensic science. It also offers a Master of Science (M.S.) degree and a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree. Currently, there are approximately 600 undergraduate students majoring in chemistry, biochemistry, or forensic science.
Job Description:
The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry within the College of Science at The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) invites applications for a non-tenure-track Assistant / Associate Professor of Instruction position in Forensic Science. The Forensic Science Program at UTEP is one of the largest and fastest-growing programs in the region, with two tracks in forensic chemistry and forensic biology. The successful candidate will be expected to teach and develop undergraduate and/or graduate lecture and laboratory courses in forensic science; engage in student advising and mentorship; contribute to departmental, college, and university service; and support curriculum development, program expansion, and accreditation efforts.
Requirements:
A Ph.D. (or equivalent) in Forensic Science, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a closely related field is required by the start date. Demonstrated excellence, or strong potential, in teaching. Previous teaching experience in forensic science lecture and laboratory courses is strongly preferred. Ability to contribute to the growth and accreditation goals of UTEP's Forensic Science Program.
