Salary Range:
Up to $45,050•$49,300 annualized, commensurate with education, experience, and qualifications

Full Time Position Summary The successful candidate will conduct choral ensembles, teach a rotation of music education courses (choral literature, secondary vocal music, vocal techniques for instrumentalists, music technology for music educators), and teach other courses as appropriate and as needed in the choral music curriculum. The standard teaching load for this position will be four classes per semester. The candidate will also be expected to establish and maintain a high profile and positive presence in the university, community, public schools, and the region, as well as a successful record of teaching and service as defined by the needs of the school. This position calls for a dynamic individual committed to furthering the legacy of an established choral and vocal education program in collaboration with the Director of Choral Activities. Qualifications The successful candidate will possess: Master's degree in choral conducting or choral music education. Record of successful college-level teaching experience as a choral director. Minimum of three (3) years of K-12 choral teaching experience. Strong communication and organizational skills, as well as skills in musicianship, conducting, and rehearsal techniques. This position requires the ability to maintain the security and integrity of UT San Antonio and its infrastructure. Preferred Qualifications An earned Doctorate in choral conducting or choral music education. Minimum of three (3) years of college teaching experience. A growing reputation as a conductor and clinician. Record of successful student recruitment and retention. To be considered for Assistant Professor of Instruction, the candidate must hold the terminal degree.
