Teaching Staff Applications are invited for appointment as Lecturer/Assistant Lecturer in the Master of Arts in Chinese Language and Literature (MACLL) programme in the School of Chinese (Ref.: 537262), to commence on December 1, 2026, or as soon as possible thereafter, on a two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance. Applicants should possess a Ph. D. degree in Chinese Language and Literature or a related field and 3 years' post-qualification teaching experience at the tertiary level or other relevant professional experience. They should have a proven record of excellence in teaching and demonstrable administrative experience in higher education. Preference will be given to applicants with expertise in classical Chinese literature, especially in one or more of the following areas: classical Chinese poetry, classical Chinese prose, and gender and Chinese literary studies. The appointee will be expected to teach MACLL and undergraduate courses, supervise dissertations, assist with organizing MACLL field trips, and undertake programme administrative duties as assigned by the Programme Director. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, together with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme at 15% of basic salary for Lecturer and 10% of basic salary for Assistant Lecturer.
