IU Northwest Communication Location Northwest Position Summary The Lecturer in Communication is a full-time, 10-month faculty position focused on teaching courses in Strategic Communication and Public Relations. Key working relationships include working with other faculty members and key staff members across campus, as well as serving as an advisor for the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA). This position is a non-tenure-track, academic position in the College of Arts, Sciences, and Education at Indiana University Northwest. This position reports to the Chair of the Department and includes service responsibilities, which may involve participation in the department, college, campus, and/or community level. Major Responsibilities and Duties Responsibilities for this position will include teaching undergraduate strategic communication, public relations, and other communication courses in both the BA in Communication and the BS in Digital Media Storytelling degrees; assisting with curricular development, implementation, and evaluation; mentoring to students; service/shared governance activities; advising PRSSA; and collaborating with key staff across campus to host various events focused on career readiness and strategic communication. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of current issues within the strategic communication industry Previous professional experience within Strategic Communication General knowledge of key software programs and websites (e.g., Microsoft 365, Canvas, Wordpress, LinkedIn)
