- Time Instructor, Journalism
- FY 2026
Job Description Core Responsibilities:
Teach Journalism course content. Evaluate students' written work and student news stories. Administer department exams. Post information to Learning Management Software (CANVAS). Complete assessment assignments. Teach news writing, research skills, interviewing skills, and news gathering techniques. Submit semester documents including, but not limited to, syllabus, exams, gradebooks, attendance, and participation rosters. Willingness to teach courses in-person at multiple campus locations.Minimum Qualifications:
Master's degree in Journalism, Communication, Communication Studies, Mass Communication, or a related field. Experience teaching journalism. 15 credits of graduate coursework in Journalism, Media Studies, Communication, Mass Communication, OR equivalent terminal degree with experience in Journalism.Preferred Qualifications:
30 credits of coursework in Journalism, Communication, Mass Communication, or a related field. Two years' experience teaching college journalism courses.Salary Information:
