Job Description

Department College of Arts and Sciences Status Part-Time Time Period varies Available August 1, 2026 Description Graphic design adjunct faculty position to teach graphic design courses; ensure that student learning objectives are met and that every student learns at the highest level possible. Faculty must be able to advance the evangelical Christian mission of the institution. CIU utilizes Canvas for its learning management system. Teaching load is one course per semester. This is a local on-site position. Responsibilities Provide instruction for on-campus graphic design courses. Endorse and model professional standards and proficiencies Assist regularly with assessment of CIU's graphic design curriculum Yearly affirm the institution's mission, doctrinal positions, and community standards. Qualifications Ability to teach effectively at the college level. Experience teaching graphic design courses at the college level OR significant professional experience in graphic design. Master's degree in graphic design or related area preferred; a bachelor's degree with significant professional experience will be considered. Competency in utilizing learning management tools and classroom technology. Ability to use technology effectively in teaching as appropriate. An understanding of the needs and trends associated with traditional college age students. Commitment to CIU's mission and vision. Commitment to live within the standards of the CIU community. Master's degree in graphic design or related field from an accredited university Bachelor's degree in graphic design from an accredited university along with related field with experience
