Job Description:
The English, Mass Communication, Drama, and Visual and New Media Arts Department at Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio seeks an Adjunct Instructor of Mass Communication beginning Fall 2025 or Spring 2026 to teach one-to-two face-to-face or online courses per semester. Responsibilities include but are not limited to preparing and presenting course content under the direction of the Department Chair and Mass Communication Director; maintaining availability to students during the week (at least one hour per week); and participating in ongoing faculty development, which includes the completion of Blackboard Ultra workshops and training. The course(s) to be taught face-to-face and asynchronous online, contingent upon semester:
DRAM 2312
- General Education Required 'speech' course Sundry other courses related to the BA in Mass Communication and BA in Professional Writing and Communication - Introduction to Mass Media, Introduction for Film, Producing for TV/Film/Theater, Newsgathering, Digital Film Production, Media Law, Audio Production, Media Ethics, Public Relations, Digital News Production, and the like.
Job Requirements:
Education & Experience:
MA or MS in Mass Communication or related field required; PhD preferred. A history of teaching Mass Communication courses and, ideally, other forms of technical and professional communication. (Professional experience in the field will be considered if advanced degree requirements are met.)
