Computer Science, BS Software Engineering through Extended Learning The Department of Computer Science at California State University San Marcos (Temecula Campus) seeks a part-time lecturer for Fall 2026 to teach CS 435: Real-Time Solutions for Embedded Systems at CSUSM's Temecula Campus. Course Description Introduction to the high-level abstract modeling concepts and the lower-level fundamental programming aspects of real-time embedded systems development. The primary focus is in the design, development and validation of microprocessor-based real-time embedded systems. Course topics will include real-time operating system design, real-time scheduling theory, general-purpose microprocessors, common bus architectures, memory management, device driver development, interrupts, general purpose peripherals: such as timers and counters, I/O subsystems along with some embedded system design problems and engineering issues.
Minimum qualifications:
A master's degree or equivalent professional experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related fields Per the California State University's Out-of-State Employment Policy, the CSU is prohibited from hiring employees to perform CSU-related work outside California. Working in the State of California is a condition of employment.
Preferred qualifications:
A doctorate or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related fields Experience teaching similar courses in 4-year universities Preference will be given to applicants who demonstrate intercultural competence and a commitment to serving a diverse campus community as it relates to teaching and, as applicable, service. Salary commensurate with degree level and experience
Anticipated Hiring Salary:
$2,279 per Weighted Teaching Unit (WTU)
CSU Classification Salary:

Requirements:
