Job Description
Job Summary The Robotics Program in the College of Engineering and Applied Science (CEAS) is hiring for an instructional associate, expected to start in Fall 2026. This will only include teaching responsibilities and is anticipated to teach approximately 5 courses over the academic year 2026-2027. Course load will be appointed on a semesterly basis. Who We Are The Robotics Program at the University of Colorado Boulder is building the next generation of robotics scholars and innovators whose research and expertise will positively impact humanity. Through a multi-disciplinary approach, incorporating engineering, mathematics, and artificial intelligence, CU Boulder's robotics research and education is exploring far-reaching applications in industry, defense, and the U.S. and world economies. What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be This position is anticipated to teach 5-courses over the academic year, although exact course load may vary. What You Should Know This position is expected to begin 1 week prior to classes starting in Fall Semester 2026, and is planned to run throughout the academic year. It is only expected to be filled for the Academic Year 26-27. Instructional associates are eligible for CU system benefits when their position is 50% time or higher, but their time as an instructional associate is limited to three years, regardless of how many semesters they teach within that time period or how many credit hours they teach within a given semester. After that, if the unit wishes for them to stay on, they can be moved into continuing teaching roles as teaching professor track faculty or faculty in residence, or can revert to a lecturer position of teaching less than six credit hours per semester. What We Can Offer This position will pay $14,000 per course. If the anticipated 5 courses are taught this will equal approximately $70,000 over the academic year. What We Require Masters Degree in Robotics, Engineering, or a related field. What You Will Need Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to teach and work in a highly collaborative environment. An understanding and appreciation for robotics fundamentals. What We Would Like You to Have PhD in Robotics, Engineering, or a related field. Prior teaching experience.
