Job Description

Summary Oregon Trail Elementary School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Computer Lab Teacher to join our team on a full-time basis. The ideal candidate will be passionate about technology and education, capable of inspiring students to develop their computer skills and digital literacy. This role involves teaching students from diverse backgrounds and varying skill levels, ensuring they gain a strong foundation in computer use and responsible digital citizenship. Responsibilities Teach students essential computer skills, including but not limited to word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, and basic coding. Foster a safe and inclusive learning environment that encourages collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking. Maintain and troubleshoot computer lab equipment and software, ensuring a functional and efficient learning environment. Stay current with advancements in technology and educational practices, incorporating new tools and resources into the curriculum. Communicate effectively with students and staff to promote a positive learning experience and address any concerns. Requirements Strong knowledge of computer applications, programming languages, and educational technology tools. Previous experience teaching computer science or technology in an elementary school setting is highly desirable. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment. Ability to adapt teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities. Passion for technology and a willingness to continue learning and growing in the field of education. This is an "at will" position in that the employer or employee may terminate employment at any time for any reason consistent with applicable state or federal law. The employment "at will" policy cannot be changed verbally or in writing, unless the change is specifically authorized in writing and approved by the Board of Trustees of District 411. All recommendations for hire are tentative offers. Employment is contingent upon board approval, and successful completion of a federal background check and drug-free workplace pre-employment screening.
