Civil and Environmental Engineering seeks one applicant to teach CEE 230, in Fall term 2026 (Aug 25, 2026 - Dec 31, 2026). UM Classes begin on August 31, 2026. This course is scheduled to meet in-person Mon, Wed, Fri, 8:30-9:30am, Rm TBD. The position will be 0.30 FTE (30% effort) and requires the lecturer to be responsible for teaching students the subject titled Thermodynamics and the Environment . A Master's or Ph.D. degree in aerospace engineering, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering is preferred; however, undergraduate and/or graduate coursework in thermodynamics in a closely related field, or significant professional experience requiring proficiency in thermodynamics will also be accepted. Teaching experience in thermodynamics and evidence of teaching excellence are highly desirable. Candidates will be evaluated based on submitted CV, teaching evaluations, and relevant recommendations. Preference will be given to applicants with previous teaching experience and knowledge of the university policies and procedures. This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the Lecturers Employee Organization, AFL-CIO, which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours and other terms and conditions of employment.
