NON-TENURE TRACK FACULTY TEACHING POSITION AT THE TRUMBULL CAMPUS WITH AN OPPORTUNITY TO TEACH UNDERGRADUATE COURSES IN INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
Additional Basic Function
  • if applicable: Ideal candidates should be Quality Matters certified or willing to become certified.
Professional development in the field to remain current is expected. Candidates must demonstrate that they possess excellent communication skills, both written and oral. They should be able to convey complex technical concepts in an understandable manner and provide clear instructions. Candidates will show a history that demonstrates professionalism in their interactions with students, colleagues, and industry partners. They should maintain high ethical standards and uphold the values of the institution. Candidates must be able to participate in person for events on campus.
Examples of Duties:
Candidates are expected to teach five courses in spring and fall semesters, including beginning and advanced courses in Information Technology. Some areas of specialization could include computer hardware and software, network hardware and software, healthcare IT, web design and development, multimedia, ethical hacking, Enterprise systems and mobile devises, and Adobe Suite. They must demonstrate that they can design and deliver course content effectively, facilitate discussions, and provide students with feedback and guidance. Additional Examples of Duties

Minimum Qualifications:
Earned master's degree or higher in Information Technology, Cybersecurity or closely related field. Preferred Qualifications
  • if applicable: Evidence of recent professional development is preferred.
Three (3) years' applied IT industry experience and/or prior online teaching or training experience is preferred. One or more industry certifications is preferred. Some examples of relevant certifications include CompTIA A+. Network+ or Security+, CCNA, CCNP, or CISSP, Adobe Suite, MS Office, or Server+.

Physical Requirements:
Light work-Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently to move objects. Incumbent must be able to communicate with others. Incumbent may be required to travel from building to building frequently and off campus occasionally.
