English Faculty - Full-Time Tenure Track Passaic County Community College - 3.8 Paterson, NJ Job Details Full-time $59,000 a year 18 hours ago Benefits Free parking Commuter assistance Disability insurance Health insurance Dental insurance Flexible spending account Tuition reimbursement Employee assistance program Qualifications Master's degree Full Job Description Passaic County Community College is seeking a full-time faculty member in the English department will teach a variety of content-area specific courses, advance departmental programs, serve on committees, collaborate on initiatives, and, in general, advance the mission of the college. The faculty member will be assigned academic rank and salary commensurate with education and experience, and report to the Senior Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs by proxy of an Academic Chairperson. This is a tenure track position. Examples of Duties Teach classes as assigned by the College. Develop and submit syllabi as needed. Maintain records of grades, tests, and attendance for all courses taught. Assist in the planning and development of the department and its courses, curricula, practices and policies. Utilize technology, as required or needed, within course instruction. Inform the purchase and maintenance of specialized equipment, laboratory facilities, etc., as needed by the department. Maintain regularly scheduled office hours for consultation and advisement. Serve on college committees as elected or appointed. Participate in assessment activities. Show growth in intellectual and professional attainment and expertise. Attend and participate in conferences, associations, etc. appropriate to their discipline. Coordinate and confer with other faculty in the articulation of course content and standards. Perform related duties, as assigned or contractually required. Qualifications A Master's degree in English or related field; preference given for work beyond the Master's degree. Teaching experience at the higher education level preferred. Experience in working in a multi-ethnic, multi-racial environment. The completion of a background check will be required for the selected candidate.
Compensation:
The salary for this position is $59,000.
