About the
Role:
The Clinical Education-EMR Support Specialist plays a critical role in bridging the gap between clinical staff and electronic medical record (EMR) technology to enhance patient care and operational efficiency. This position is responsible for providing comprehensive training, support, and guidance to healthcare professionals on the effective use of EMR systems. The specialist collaborates closely with clinical teams to identify educational needs, develop tailored training materials, and ensure seamless adoption of EMR functionalities. By troubleshooting issues and offering real-time assistance, the role ensures minimal disruption to clinical workflows and maximizes the benefits of EMR technology. Ultimately, this position contributes to improved clinical documentation accuracy, compliance, and overall healthcare delivery within the organization.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum one (1) year experience in a health care setting utilizing an electronic medical record (EMR) Strong understanding of clinical workflows and healthcare documentation standards. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively train and support diverse clinical staff. Proficiency in troubleshooting technical issues related to EMR software.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor s degree in Nursing, Health Informatics, Healthcare Administration, or a related field. LPN or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) preferred. Certification in Health Informatics or EMR system-specific training certifications. Experience in clinical education or training roles within healthcare settings. Familiarity with regulatory requirements such as HIPAA and clinical compliance standards. Knowledge of data analytics related to EMR usage and clinical outcomes. Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
Initial and ongoing training of clinic end-users on the institutional EMR system. Develop, deliver, and update training programs and materials tailored to various clinical roles to facilitate effective use of EMR systems. Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting assistance to clinical staff encountering challenges with EMR functionalities. Collaborate with clinical leadership and IT teams to identify system enhancements and training needs based on user feedback and workflow analysis. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training initiatives and user adoption rates, making adjustments as necessary to improve outcomes. Serve as a liaison between clinical users and technical teams to communicate issues, recommend solutions, and support system upgrades or changes.
