(Part-Time, Salaried) East Valley Children's Theatre (EVCT) Reports to:Board of Directors FSLA Status:
Exempt, non-benefits eligible. Position Overview East Valley Children's Theatre (EVCT) is seeking a creative, collaborative and highly organized Education and Community Outreach Director to oversee the organization's educational programs. This leadership role is responsible for collaborating on the artistic vision for EVCT's class and troupe rosters, assembling teaching artists, and building relationships within the Mesa community. This role will be pivotal in helping to guide EVCT's long-term growth and sustainability within the East Valley. Job Responsibilities Oversee all Educational Programming for EVCT (Classes, Troupes, Masterclasses, Workshops) in coordination with mainstage programming led by the Producing Artistic Director Identify themes, community needs, general market demand Maintain class registration database (currently Sawyer) in a timely manner Hire and manage teaching artists for all classes, workshops, seasonal camps Create and Manage creation and curriculums for all EVCT fall, spring and summer camps Create an annual workshop rotation designed to attract new families, and build skills for the mainstage season Work with Marketing Committee Chair & Business Manager to create all education marketing Serve as lead for marketing/tabling events, Thespian Festival (Nov 2026), in school meetings etc... Oversee School Outreach Programming Implement and run off-site programing, including enrichment classes, residencies, troupe performances (Literature Alive) Oversee Outreach Contracting and securing insurance certificates for off-site programs Serve as primary grant writer for at least 2 education/outreach programs per fiscal year General Responsibilities Provide guidance to contractors and staff in a way that aligns with EVCT's mission Work with EVCT staff to secure artists and educators for all educational programs Work with Business Manager and Board to create and oversee the yearly budget (education programs) Attend staff meetings Maintain studio calendar in collaboration with Business Manager and Producing Artistic Director to ensure effective use of studio spaces Provide regular enrollment update reports for monthly Board Meetings Work withEVCT BOD
to update yearly operational plan, and maintain education based goals/objectives Participate in creation and maintenance of 3-5 year strategic plan (Education focused) Cultivate and maintain community partnerships by attending Mesa Public School opportunities, various community events, EVCT fundraisers Desired Qualifications Minimum Bachelor's Degree required; Arts education focus preferred Strong teaching resume, specifically within youth theatre Proven track record in creating classes and successful programs Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills Experience creating and managing budgets, systems, and staff Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively across departments and with Board of Directors Valid AZ Fingerprint Clearance Card (or the ability to obtain within 30 days of hire) Compensation Salary- $28•33k (based on experience) Hours•25-30 hours/week
