MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
: Master's degree in educational leadership, elementary or secondary education, or in a content area assessed on the state's assessment test (Literacy). Must possess a valid Michigan Permanent, Continuing, Provisional, or Professional Teaching Certificate in Literacy. A valid administrative certification is preferred. Experience in clinical supervision, or supervision of teachers is preferred. Strong curriculum and instructional background required. Working knowledge of the Common Core State Standards and College and Career Readiness Standards. Familiarity with educational research and assessment. Must possess good written and oral communication skills and possess the ability to interact positively with a broad spectrum of individuals and organizations. Proven ability to work effectively with students, staff, administration, parents, booster clubs, organizations, and the community in general.
PERFORMANCE DUTIES AND RESPONSIILITIES
(summary includes but is not limited to the following): Become knowledgeable and adept in the essential skill content standards for the Michigan Core Curriculum and the Beecher Community School District. Develop a familiarity with "best practices" in the content skill areas that will insure successful student outcomes. Assist in the development and continued updating of curriculum outcomes for literacy content areas assessed on the State's performance assessment tests. Assist district and building school improvement efforts and work with school staff to insure that instructional materials and staff development activities are focused on addressing skill areas that students are having difficulty mastering. Provide assistance to school staff in the analysis of student test data and assist with the development of written reports which identify essential skill areas where students are, or are not, mastering the essential skills. Serve on instructional curriculum and instructional materials selection committees and insure that all activities and materials are aligned with the State/Beecher Core Curriculum. Provide informational newsletters to staff, districtwide, about successful practices and innovative instructional techniques that are occurring within the Beecher Community School District.
REQUIREMENTS
: Newly hired employees must satisfactorily pass: Reference checks Police clearance including digital fingerprinting.
ANNUAL SALARY
: $55,000
  • $60,000 grant funding dependent.
Exceptional administrative fringe benefits available.
