This role will support Multilingual Learner (ML) students to achieve academic success and become college and career-ready based on SFUSD's Graduate Profile. This staff will also regularly engage ML parents/guardians/caregivers to become active partners in their students' education. Essential Duties The duties specified below are representative of the range of duties assigned to the job code/class and are not intended to be an inclusive or exhaustive list. As the Education Integration Specialist on the Multilingual Learner (ML) Roadmap Team of the Local, State & Federal Programs Department, you will: Provide training and technical assistance to school administrators, family liaisons, and community school coordinators to ensure site-based English Learner Advisory Committees (ELAC) are highly functional and able to fulfill their roles and responsibilities. Develop and deliver training modules on required ELAC topics, including ELAC compliance, assessments and reclassification, school budget, and the School Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA). Create and maintain tools to support Multilingual Learner (ML) family engagement. Coordinate and staff monthly meetings of the District English Learner Advisory Committee (DELAC). Recruit and build the leadership capacity of parents by providing training on the roles and responsibilities of DELAC. Ensure that DELAC membership is representative of ELACs across the district. Conduct districtwide ML student and family needs assessments in collaboration with DELAC by analyzing surveys, interviews, site visits, and student achievement data to develop recommendations for the Board of Education. Recruit, coordinate, and manage the DELAC Youth Leadership Program, a district fellowship for high school students that centers youth voice in identifying the needs of Multilingual Learners and informing district recommendations. Maintain and update SFUSD's ELAC and DELAC webpages. Build and maintain internal and external folder structures forELAC/DELAC
document sharing, including training materials. Participate monthly or bimonthly in different committees that support community engagement for the district's major decisions: LCAP Advisory Committee, Joint Advisory Alignment Committee, etc.The strongest candidates will have:
Knowledge of San Francisco's public schools/urban public schools and a passionate belief in SFUSD's commitment to instructional leadership as a lever toward delivering on the SFUSD Graduate Profile; Educational integration philosophy, programs, and techniques, and a good knowledge of public information and community relations methods. Bilingual/biliterate skills- especially in Spanish and/or Cantonese or Mandarin Strong analytics and systems thinking necessary to interpret data to inform goals and strategy, as well as build infrastructure where none exists High degree of cultural awareness and competency in cross-cultural practice with children and families Experience in collaboration, meeting facilitation, problem-solving, and team-building The ability to learn quickly and adapt as needed in a fast-paced environment Outstanding organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail A flexible, "can do" work ethic with a focus on identifying challenges and proactively working to find solutions while maintaining a bigger picture lens and focus on what can be delivered instead of what cannot be done Ability to work flexible hours (evenings, weekends) Excellent data analysis skills and experience synthesizing data to drive action steps Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective working relationships with senior-level district staff and colleagues Effective written and verbal communication and the ability to clearly communicate complex, bureaucratic processes to a variety of audiences Ability to work effectively in difficult situations that involve confidential and sensitive matters Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and G-Suite (Google Docs, Slides, Sheets, Forms) Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree (B.
