Instructional Support Specialist Part-Time | 12-Month Position Monday-Thursday | 9:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

Position Summary The Instructional Support Specialist provides instructional, assessment, technology, and program support to ensure the effective delivery of Adult Education services. This position serves as a flexible instructional resource by providing substitute teaching coverage, supporting curriculum implementation, assisting with student registration and assessment, and contributing to student success through high-quality instructional and administrative support. Working closely with Adult Education leadership and instructional staff, the Instructional Support Specialist helps maintain instructional continuity, supports classroom effectiveness, and promotes a welcoming and engaging learning environment for adult students. What You'll Do Instructional Support Provide substitute teaching coverage for Adult Education classes. Deliver instruction aligned with established curriculum and program requirements. Prepare instructional materials, classroom resources, and learning activities. Support curriculum implementation and classroom instruction. Foster a positive, respectful, and inclusive learning environment. Student Registration & Assessment Assist with student registration, enrollment, onboarding, assessment, and placement. Maintain accurate student records, attendance, and assessment data using Salesforce and other program systems. Administer placement assessments and standardized testing. Assist with student surveys, evaluations, and data collection. Provide students with information about educational programs and available resources. Program & Administrative Support Support orientations, workshops, student activities, tutor onboarding, and special events. Provide basic classroom technology support and troubleshooting. Assist with instructional materials, classroom organization, inventory, and departmental projects. Collaborate with colleagues to support high-quality programming. Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and required state training. Qualifications We're looking for someone who is organized, adaptable, collaborative, and passionate about helping adult learners succeed.
Qualifications include:
Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent education and experience will be considered. Minimum of two years of teaching, tutoring, instructional support, or adult education experience. Knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional support practices. Experience with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Google Classroom, Salesforce, or similar educational technology platforms. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, volunteers, and community partners. Proficiency in one or more languages in addition to English is considered an asset. Why Join Mercy Learning Center?
