Job Description
Position Summary - 20 hours total/10 hours each We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Curriculum Writer to develop high-quality, standards-aligned instructional materials for Grade 8 Mathematics. The ideal candidate brings both content expertise and an understanding of how eighth graders learn. Key Responsibilities Write and revise lesson plans, units, and assessments aligned to grade-level math standards Develop clear learning objectives, instructional sequences, and student-facing materials Incorporate opportunities for critical thinking, problem-solving, and mathematical discourse Collaborate with instructional staff to ensure materials reflect classroom realities Align content to district curriculum frameworks and the vertical progression of math concepts Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Education, or related field Experience teaching or developing curriculum for middle school mathematics Strong knowledge of Grade 8 math content (linear equations, functions, geometry, statistics) Familiarity with Common Core or state math standards Excellent written communication and organizational skills
