Job Title:
U.S. History Curriculum Writer Position Overview We are seeking knowledgeable educators to develop rigorous, engaging curriculum materials for U.S. History. Writers will design standards-aligned instructional resources that bring historical content to life and support both teacher delivery and student understanding. Responsibilities Write and revise lesson plans, unit guides, assessments, and/or supplementary materials for U.S. History Align all content to relevant state and/or national history and social studies standards Incorporate primary sources, document analysis, and historical thinking skills throughout materials Collaborate with team leads and other curriculum writers to ensure coherence and consistency across units Incorporate feedback from reviewers in a timely manner Qualifications Teaching experience in secondary Social Studies or U.S. History Strong knowledge of U.S. History content and historiography Familiarity with historical thinking frameworks (sourcing, contextualization, corroboration, close reading) Excellent written communication skills Ability to meet deadlines and work independently Compensation & Time Commitment This is a paid contract position Writers are expected to contribute a maximum of 20 hours per teacher Flexible schedule; work may be completed remotely
