The Education Department at Adas Israel is proud to serve our diverse family community from birth through college. We are home to a number of different school experiences, programs, Shabbat and holiday services, family learning, and youth groups to encourage our children and their grownups to engage in meaningful, communal experiences throughout the course of the year. Position Summary The Education Coordinator position is an early-career role that blends administrative coordination with hands-on educational experience across the department's programs. This position is ideal for a recent graduate or emerging professional with experience in youth groups, camp, or religious school who is interested in building a career in Jewish education or communal work. The Coordinator supports the day-to-day operations of Adas Israel's Education Department while actively contributing to educational programming and engagement efforts. As a fully integrated member of the team, this role offers meaningful opportunities to learn, grow, and gain exposure to multiple facets of synagogue education, including school, programming, and operations. This role requires non-traditional hours. During the school year (late August-May), the Education Coordinator works Sunday and Tuesday-Friday, including select evenings. Outside the school year, hours shift to Monday-Friday. Occasionally, Friday evening or Saturday staffing may be required with advance notice. This is a full-time, exempt, on-site position that requires regular in-person presence during school and program hours. Core Responsibilities Department Support & Coordination Support the smooth and efficient functioning of Education Department programs through strong organization, attention to detail, and follow-through Help foster a welcoming, responsive, and well-coordinated environment for students, families, and staff Serve as a first point of contact for families (in person, phone, and email), responding to inquiries and directing questions appropriately Manage the Education Department inbox and support clear, timely communication Program Operations & Logistics Prepare and organize classroom materials and supplies for teachers Support logistics for Religious School and programming, including setup, transitions, and cleanup Maintain organized systems for materials, inventory, ordering, and data tracking Assist with administrative processes related to enrollment, communications, and teacher hiring Support the organization and upkeep of shared spaces and classrooms Teaching & Program Engagement Teach 2-3 days per week in the Religious School Support and help facilitate youth and family programming, including Shabbat and holiday events and special programs Assist in supervising volunteers or aides to ensure smooth program flow Partner with educators and staff to support engaging, meaningful learning experiences Communications & Administrative Support Assist with the creation and distribution of department communications, including newsletters, emails, and social media content Support data management, including maintaining accurate records and assisting with system updates and data hygiene Provide administrative support during key periods such as enrollment, progress reporting, and major school events (e.g., open houses, promotions, graduations) Qualifications 1-3 years of relevant experience (or strong internship/leadership experience) in education, youth programming, or related fields Bachelor's degree preferred or in progress Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills Warm, welcoming, and responsive approach to working with children, families, and colleagues Ability to manage multiple tasks and shift priorities as needed Interest in Jewish education and communal work Proficiency with Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and other workplace software Compensation
  • Salary range: $50,000-$55,000, commensurate with experience and expertise.
