A Curriculum Specialist works in a public school district to coordinate curriculum. Works with teachers to develop curriculum that helps students learn effectively and meets state educational standards. Analyzes student assessment data, and chooses textbooks, educational materials, and new technologies to support teaching. May specialize in particular grade levels or subject areas, or education for specific groups of students such as English Language Learners.
Position - Youth Education Coordinator Direct Hire with Benefits Schedule - Full Time, Onsite, Monday-Friday, 11AM to 7PM We are seeking a dedicated Youth Education Coordinator to empower youth (teens) students through academic coaching, college and career planning, and individualized support. In this role, you'll help students build confidence, prepare for life after high school, and successfully navigate the path to college, career training, or the workforce. You'll collaborate with families, schools, and community partners to provide meaningful guidance while creating engaging educational experiences that inspire success. What You'll Do:
Student Success & Academic Support Provide individualized academic coaching and educational planning for youth. Conduct educational assessments and develop personalized learning plans. Monitor student progress and provide ongoing support to help achieve academic goals. Facilitate engaging SAT, ACT, and GED preparation workshops. College & Career Readiness Guide students through the college admissions process, including application planning, essay development, and interview preparation. Assist students and families with FAFSA, scholarships, grants, and financial aid resources. Coordinate college visits, tours, career exploration events, and workforce readiness activities. Help students identify educational and career pathways that align with their strengths and goals. Family & Community Engagement Build strong partnerships with students, families, schools, guidance counselors, and community organizations. Connect youth and families with educational, social service, and community resources. Foster a supportive environment that encourages student engagement and long-term success. Program Development & Coordination Design and facilitate engaging educational workshops, curriculum, and learning activities. Develop and oversee a tutoring program, including recruiting, training, and supporting volunteer tutors. Maintain accurate student records, program documentation, and outcome tracking. Evaluate program effectiveness and recommend improvements based on participant feedback and performance data. Assist with grant reporting, program documentation, and special projects as needed. What We're Looking For Education Bachelor's degree in Education, Human Services, Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Youth Development, or a related field. Experience Two or more years of experience working with youth in education, nonprofit, workforce development, mentoring, college access, or social service settings. Experience facilitating workshops, group instruction, or educational programming is preferred. Experience supporting college readiness, academic advising, tutoring, or youth mentoring is highly desirable. Schedule This is a full-time position with a typical schedule of Monday through Friday from 11AM to 7PM Certifications First Aid/CPR certification (or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire).
