Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in education or comparable degree and experience in the development and implementation of educational programs for youth. Requires excellent written and verbal communication skills, knowledge of working with inner city youth and their parents. Ability to work with a diverse staff and work as a team with other program staff. Requires exceptional record keeping skills.

Hours:

Requires minimum of 40 hours per week including evenings and weekends. Other hours as necessary to perform professional responsibilities.

Reports to:

Youth Service Coordinator Responsibilities:

1. Assist in planning and implementing comprehensive educational programs for school-age youth. 2. Work with youth service coordinator and to plan and implement a comprehensive summer camp program. 3. Monitor progress toward short and long term education and program goals. 4. Develop age appropriate lesson plans. 5. Ensure the health and safety of all participants at all times. 6. Maintain educational files and documentation for all enrolled participants. 7. Complete school-age assessments on all enrolled participants twice a year. 8. Keep families informed of children's educational developmental concerns and progress. 9. Collect IEP's and implement goals into a participant's learning instruction as needed. 10. Establish and maintain contact with school personnel concerning the educational progress and enhancement of Hilltop participants. 11. Maintain statistical data on students' academic progress. 12. Coordinate and schedule one-on-one tutorials, student's assessments, small group tutorials, educational classes and workshops.
