Utilize classroom management techniques to foster a positive, inclusive environment conducive to active learning and student participation. Conduct assessments, including standardized testing preparation, to monitor student progress and inform instruction. Collaborate with colleagues on lesson planning, curriculum development, and school-wide initiatives to enhance instructional quality. Communicate effectively with parents regarding student progress, behavior management strategies, and academic support plans. Integrate research skills, library services, and social sciences content into lessons to broaden students' understanding of language arts within broader contexts. Implement IT-integrated lessons that leverage educational technology tools for enhanced engagement and learning outcomes. Provide tutoring or additional support for students requiring extra help in literacy or social sciences subjects. Maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, and behavioral observations in compliance with educational regulations. Experience Proven teaching experience at the middle school level with a focus on English Language Arts and Reading. Demonstrated expertise in curriculum development, lesson planning, and instructional design tailored for adolescents. Strong knowledge of AP style, Chicago Manual of Style, proofreading techniques, copy editing, and creative writing instruction. Experience working with diverse learners including students with special education needs or differing learning styles; familiarity with Montessori or other alternative education frameworks is a plus. Skilled in classroom management, behavior management strategies, and implementing IT-integrated lessons using various educational technologies. Background in teaching social sciences or related subjects such as history or civics is advantageous. Excellent communication skills for parent engagement, teacher collaboration, and instructional coaching. Higher education teaching experience or involvement in academic advising enhances candidacy; familiarity with standardized testing procedures is beneficial. Ability to adapt teaching methods based on research findings and learning styles analysis; experience working with teenagers in private school settings is preferred.
