CASUAL Description •Applicants seeking short-term or part-time work with the University of Hawai'i may apply for Casual Hire positions, which include administrative, professional, and technical (APT) or instructional-type positions. Casual Hire temporary appointment is expected to begin April 2026, or soon thereafter. Not to exceed 89 days.Duties:
Under the general supervision of the Director of the Kipuka Native Hawaiian Student center, provides technical, online, and social media support to staff and students participating in the Kukulu Program to enhance learning environments and improve the persistence and graduation of Native Hawaiian returning, transfer, and Hawaiian language and culture students. Plans, develops, and delivers workshops and training for staff and students on effective use of technology tools, learning platforms, and digital resources to support academic and program goals. Collaborates with Kipuka staff and peer mentors to design and implement social media strategies, create engaging digital content, and manage posts across multiple channels (e.g. Facebook, Instagram, Twitter/X). Assist with communication and outreach, including disseminating information on upcoming events, resources, and program highlights through Kipuka's social media platforms, website, and email newsletters. Coordinates and collaborates with Kipuka staff to support Kukulu Program technology needs, troubleshoot issues, and contribute to improvements in digital systems and user experience. Works in multiple work settings (on-campus, virtual, community sites) and maintains a flexible schedule as required. Other duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications:
Possession of a baccalaureate degree in any field from an accredited university and one (1) year of progressively responsible professional experience with responsibilities for online marketing, digital communications, or technological support; or any equivalent combination of education and/or professional work experience which provides the required education, knowledge, skills and abilities as indications. Demonstrated knowledge of UH Hilo programs and services. Demonstrated experience in social media marketing and advertising. Demonstrated ability to operate a personal computer and apply word processing software.To Apply:
