Halawa Correctional Facility, Oahu Community Correctional Center, Waiawa Correctional Facility and Women's Community Correctional Center.Description of Duties:
Under general supervision provides curriculum development, classroom instructions and program and student evaluations. Develop and deliver engaging training programs on various topics including, but not limited to: Entrepreneurship training, Life Skills training and Re-entry classes focusing on financial literacy, home management, health and nutrition, personal advocacy, cultural awareness, community resources, substance use and soft skills development, such as effective communication, teamwork and problem-solving, career communication training, including resume writing, interview techniques and workplace etiquette. Other duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Education, Social Work, Psychology, Criminal Justice, Public Health, Biology, Business or a related field. One (1) year of experience working with marginalized or at-risk populations or workforce training experience. Experience developing and creating course/training material such as curriculum development, syllabi, lesson plans, homework, classwork, exams and activities.Desired Qualifications:
Master's degree in Education, Social Work, Psychology, Criminal Justice, Public Health, Biology, Business or a related field. Considerable working knowledge or experience of principles, practices and techniques in the area of correctional education programs and re-entry strategies. Successful completion of volunteer training (VolinCor) for the DCR Education Branch.To Apply :
