South Oldham High School School Based Instructional Coordinator Job Goal:
The School Based Instructional Coordinator, under the supervision of the Principal, shall use leadership skills to assist the faculty in meeting the educational needs of each student. This Specialist shall also assist faculty members in their professional growth.

Compensation will be determined by the Superintendent based on 197 contract days and appropriate board-approved teacher salary schedule.
Minimum Qualifications:
Valid Kentucky Teacher Certificate required. Superior interpersonal skills. Successful elementary teaching experience. Leadership experience. Experience in curriculum development, implementation and assessment. Knowledge/experience in meeting the needs of gifted students required. Knowledge of Kentucky's Educational Reform and Assessment program. Knowledge of technology. Knowledge of creation and implementation of School Improvement Plan required. Approval/endorsement for teaching gifted desired.
Performance Responsibilities:
Provides leadership to staff in developing, implementing, coordinating, and assessing curriculum; including coordinating the State Assessment Program. Provides leadership to the faculty in identifying and meeting the needs of gifted students. Keeps informed of effective curriculum and instructional programs, trends and grant opportunities, utilizing staff professional development monies, and shares this information in appropriate forms with the staff. Chairs School Improvement Plan Committee and a member of the District curriculum/assessment committee. Coordinates curriculum/gifted activities/information for parents and community. Provides input to the Principal regarding curriculum, instructional and assessment issues. May serve as the Building Assessment Coordinator. May serve as Flex Time Coordinator and other areas of MTSS, supporting teachers in creating and implementing intervention plans for students. Performs other tasks and assumes other responsibilities as the Principal may assign that are directly related to curriculum and gifted instruction.
