A Curriculum Specialist works in a public school district to coordinate curriculum. Works with teachers to develop curriculum that helps students learn effectively and meets state educational standards. Analyzes student assessment data, and chooses textbooks, educational materials, and new technologies to support teaching. May specialize in particular grade levels or subject areas, or education for specific groups of students such as English Language Learners.

Position Purpose:
The Prevention Education and Outreach Specialist advances Lotus's mission by developing, coordinating, facilitating, and evaluating evidence-based prevention education, outreach, and awareness initiatives that promote child safety, healthy relationships, violence prevention, and community well-being. This position supports Lotus's Community Impact priorities through prevention education, community outreach, awareness activities, volunteer engagement, partner relationship support, communications support, program coordination, and evaluation. The Prevention Education and Outreach Specialist helps increase protective factors, reduce risk factors, strengthen community connections, and expand awareness of resources and services throughout the region. The Prevention Education and Outreach Specialist serves as a community representative of Lotus and works collaboratively with schools, community organizations, volunteers, community partners, and internal teams to support prevention, awareness, and engagement goals while ensuring services and activities are trauma-informed, survivor-centered, equitable, and culturally responsive.
Position Requirements & Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university OR high school diploma and four (4) years of relevant experience required. One (1) to three (3) years of professional experience in prevention, education, community engagement, outreach, public health, youth development, human services, or a related field. Demonstrated experience facilitating presentations, trainings, workshops, or educational programs for diverse audiences. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking, relationship-building, and community engagement. Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with schools, community organizations, volunteers, and community partners. Experience coordinating projects, events, programs, or community initiatives with multiple stakeholders. Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative team environment. Commitment to trauma-informed, survivor-centered, equitable, and culturally responsive practices. Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and ability to travel throughout the service area. Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends based on program and community needs.
Schedule:
