9668058-02139 Job Description An exciting contract opportunity is available for an experienced Reading Specialist to support students in grades K-8 near Cambridge, MA. This role is ideal for an educator passionate about literacy intervention and differentiated instruction. As a Reading Specialist, youll provide crucial one-on-one support, focusing on reading development for a small caseload of up to 10 students, helping each child reach key academic milestones.
Key Qualifications:
Current Massachusetts Reading Specialist Certification required Licensure in Moderate Disabilities K-8, or Elementary Licensure Grades 1-6 Experience working with K-8th grade students Strong background in reading intervention and specialized instruction Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, administrators, and families Excellent communication and organizational skills
Role Responsibilities:
Provide individualized reading instruction to K-8 students, targeting specific skill gaps and fostering reading proficiency Develop, implement, and monitor progress on IEPs and reading intervention plans Adapt instructional strategies to meet diverse learning needs and abilities Track and report student progress, collaborating with staff and families about ongoing needs Maintain thorough documentation for compliance and communication Serve as a literacy resource and mentor to teaching colleagues This part-time contract position begins ASAP and runs through June 2024, with a flexible schedule of three days per week, from 9AM-3PM.
