Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Community Education Director, the Community Education Coordinator is responsible for assisting in the overall programming process of the following Community Education programs: Adult Enrichment, Childcare, Facilities, Aquatics, Youth Enrichment and Youth Recreation.
Hours:
This position requires a flexible work schedule. Hours will vary based on programming, events, meetings, and other district activities. Occasional evening and weekend hours are required. The duty year is a full 12-month term. Daily work hours may be adjusted as needed to meet the responsibilities of the position. Typical hours are 8:00-4:30
Starting Wage:
$21.68/hr

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs outreach to ensure Community Education programming continues to grow and evolve
- Recruits instructors and volunteers
- Schedules lifeguards/aquatic staff and Kids' Zone staff
- Coordinates program layout, including fees, schedule, space, etc
- Makes sure that all necessary endorsements for staff are up to date (concussion training, background checks, CPR, lifeguard certification)
- Hosts/attends occasional program specific meetings to ensure smooth functioning of programs
- Purchase materials and supplies for programs or special events
- Monitor revenue and expenditures for programs
- Design and produce program flyers
- Ensures classes are correctly scheduled in the online registration system and district calendar.
- Communicates with participants regarding program changes.
- Substitute at Husker Kids' Zone childcare
- Design the quarterly district Newsletter
- Monitor Social Media page
- Other duties as assigned by the Community Ed.
Director Essential Skills:
- Ability to independently supervise staff and volunteers when necessary.
- Apply judgement, problem-solving and decision making to situations and activities in assigned program areas in accordance with district policies.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students and parents.
- Fundamentals of public relations in promoting, advertising, and informing the public of programs, services, activities or other events.
- General accounting/bookkeeping skills pertaining to registration payments, billing, refunds, etc.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Strong technology/computer skills
